PKG Equipment's ASME Code and non-code tanks are custom designed and fabricated to meet a wide range of process or storage needs. They are fabricated in a variety of sizes, shapes and configurations. Our metal fabricating department manufactures tanks from carbon steel, stainless steel or specialty alloys for various temperatures and pressures.
Non-code tanks: Our custom metal fabricated process tanks and storage tanks come with a variety of options: manways, ladders, platforms, baffles, sight glasses, internal coils, mixer bridges, spray headers, pumps, secondary containment, covers, heaters and controllers, skimming weirs, flexible or rigid liners and more.
ASME Code tanks, designed, stamped and registered: Custom designed for pressure greater than 15 psig or vacuum service, our ASME Code tanks are manufactured in accordance with the latest editions of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sec. VIII, Div. 1 and are available in carbon steel, low alloy steel and high alloy steel. ASME Code tanks are inspected, stamped with the U-symbol and assigned a National Board number.
ASME designed tanks, no stamp: These tanks are designed to ASME Code and inspected by a qualified inspector. They do not get the U-stamp, and they do not get assigned a National Board number.
ASME constructed tanks (material & welding only): ASME certified welders and ASME materials are used in the fabrication of these tanks, but they may not be designed to ASME Code standards.
API Standard 650 welded steel tanks for oil storage: This is the American Petroleum Institute's standard covering material, design, fabrication, erection and testing requirements for vertical, cylindrical, aboveground, closed and open top, welded steel tanks for oil storage. It covers tanks in various sizes and capacities for internal pressures approximating atmospheric pressure. There are additional requirements for tanks with a higher internal pressure. The standard applies only to tanks whose entire bottom is uniformly supported and to tanks in nonrefrigerated service that have a maximum operating temperature of 200° F.
Tank liners: Liners are available in polypro, PVDF, PVC, HDPE, titanium and lead for corrosion resistance. We are a recommended Koroseal lining applicator. Koroseal lining carbon steel tanks combines the economy and strength of steel with the added chemical resistance of the Koroseal lining. Koroseal lined carbon steel tanks are frequently fabricated for chrome plating applications. PKG Equipment is also a certified industrial applicator of Rhino Linings® spray on polyurethane liners.
